Last night had a very enjoyable half an hour sharing in a radio programme with Richard Whitehouse, the Church of Christ Pastor (Selston). Richard had been granted this slot at 6.00 p.m. and had asked me to share it with him, to bring some stories of Chapel outings. Consequently we ranged from `chuggie-boats` to Billy Graham, via Lonnie Donnigan and memories of support from my home Chapel and Sunday-school days.
Interspersed with all this was music, predominantly Christian but Lonnie Donnigan also got a look in !
it was a good time and I hope the listeners enjoyed it.
Radio Salistune is a local initiative by a small but heavily committed group who host a station covering the Selston area of Nottinghamshire for 1 week each year (although this year they’re trying for two weeks). It is entirely voluntary and I was very impressed with the professionalism of its presenters and backroom staff.
All in all I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and hope to be involved again at some stage. It was very generous of them to let me prattle on, but also a good gentle way of bringing something of the Christian Gospel to a wider audience who might never attend Church.
God works through many different media.
